The Ranger School of Dance was formed 40 years ago by a professional dancer, June Ranger, who with a handful of eager girls wishing ‘to learn ballet’ embarked on a long journey.

Since then, the school has evolved into something far larger, with some 300 pupils of all ages now performing full-length classical ballets, reviews, presentations and full scale productions.

The school welcomes all manner of individual regardless of sex, race, age, political or religious persuasion.

Fumbling 4 year olds grace the stage with 80 year old veterans, such is the diversity of the school. June’s daughter, Caroline Ranger McCrory, decided to join her mother and hence became a co-director of the school after her retirement from professional performing in 1996. Caroline’s training, at the Royal Ballet School and Arts Educational College enabled her to perform all over the world in ballet companies, musicals, cabaret, film and television.
